ABSTRACT
This chapter highlights the system of heritage protection in Poland. It describes forms of cemetery protection, including the register of monuments, cultural parks, and monuments of history. It also looks at historic cemeteries in Poland, problems with heritage protection, and the status of pre-war cemeteries in post-migrant territories of Poland. It features the process of the heritagization of pre-war funerary heritage. Finally, it lists the conservation, revalorization, clean-up and education activities undertaken by non-profit organizations.
