ABSTRACT

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (COVID-19) drove to the forefront the importance of public health in reshaping national, continental, and global socioeconomic goals and the extent of Africa’s achievement of health care value such as better health and better care at lower cost, especially in vulnerable populations. Building on the insightful findings from the preceding chapters, the purpose of this chapter is to wrap up this book by offering unique policy prescriptions to African governments and presenting seemingly unexplored future issues that could be of interest to African policymakers. In addition to discussing the transdisciplinary, hydra-dimensional, and multi-sectoral nature of socioeconomic policies, it presents the U.S.’s and Africa’s SARS-CoV-2 pandemic responsive strategies within the scope of their respective policy platonicities.
