ABSTRACT
Australia has recently enacted far reaching reforms in its system of child support. Collection will now be through a national Child Support Agency established under the Taxation Department relying mainly on a system of wage withholding. Awards will be determined by the agency on the basis of a national formula without the necessity of court action. The article describes the scheme in detail and discusses its implication for the United States.
