ABSTRACT
As the use of data accelerates, equity and inclusion in digital spaces become increasingly important. Indigenous Data Sovereignty creates a pathway toward Indigenous data justice. As a practical expression of Indigenous data sovereignty, Indigenous data governance leverages Indigenous Peoples’ rights and values, and relies on Indigenous decision-making to guide Indigenous nations’ and other institutional stewardship of data.
