ABSTRACT
Are there particular ingredients needed to create a queer cookbook? This chapter includes a literal recipe for creating a queer cookbook based on the commonalities of 42 Canadian and American LGBTQ+ cookbooks published between 1954 and 2021. To demonstrate the aesthetics of queer cookbooks, there is also a digital illustration of a collage of queer cookbooks stacked on top of each other. The titles and illustrations on the cookbook covers glow and the image is saturated in purple, as many queer cookbooks relied heavily on purple ink.
