ABSTRACT

Stress has been implicated as an important determinant of leadership functioning. Recently a comprehensive meta-analytic review shed more precision on the relationship between leadership style, stress and burnout. The fundamental goal for a business leader is the achievement of success in the long term. Private sector firms in most industries and sectors have distinct patterns of intense activity and are temporary endeavours, requiring the participants to “move on” and adapt to constant change. Pressure according to them is the “demand to perform”, and this may be intense but there is no inherent stress in it. The lack of self-care in turn can compound pre-existing emotional distress and leave you vulnerable to substance abuse. Digital leaders ensure that the assets of those responsible have a maximum value. The digital leadership ensures that the system can be understood and used by all others in the firm as they depend on the reliability and speed of the digital/ technological system.
