ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the importance of building up positive and purposeful relationships with your pupils’ parents and carers. Having open channels of communication is in your pupils’ best interests to support them both academically and holistically. The chapter begins discussing the contract of a ‘Home School Agreement’ and considers the value of such contracts between schools, parents and pupils. Strategies to help bring families into the school community are shared. Seven contributors share their insight into some practical strategies to employ to help build bonds with the parents and carers of your learners.
