ABSTRACT

The pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of our life. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India have also been adversely affected due to COVID-19 and the lockdown. The primary objective of the lockdown was to arrest the spread of COVID-19 and it failed to factor in the impact on MSMEs. Apart from the closure of MSME units, the lockdown also resulted in migration of skilled labour and insulation of the economy. Some positive outcomes of the pandemic were increase in e-commerce and increased demand for products like sanitizers and personal protective equipment (PPE). Despite the steps taken by the Government of India for ameliorating the impact of COVID-19, the impact has been severe on the economy.
