ABSTRACT

COVID-19 decimated many businesses particularly SMEs. The business of physical commodities like petroleum and petroleum products was inordinately affected as well. This chapter narrates the author’s experience as a founding CEO making unprecedented decisions in response to the crisis. How did the management team made decisions, both strategically and operationally, to navigate through troubled waters? The firm had to take bold steps to design a business continuity plan and ward off challenges through these times of great uncertainty. Finally, all concerned citizens should realize that paying it forward, particularly in giving to the underprivileged, might be the way to a new normal.
