ABSTRACT

Serological tests—that detect antibodies—against the virus become positive only after the infection subsides. So, while “Universal Testing” and “Immunity/Vaccine passports” seem to be attractive propositions to detect all cases and isolate them, this may be practically impossible due to resource and financial constraints. Industries are unwilling to adopt any new business model that needs major investment and at the moment. As a responsible member of the civil society, the author realised that paying it forward, particularly in giving to the underprivileged of society might be the best way to normalise humanity in what is now widely known as the new normal. Dark clouds of proliferation of falsehoods, intolerance, overstretched health infrastructure, medical particularly vaccine inequity, pandemic restrictions fatigue, protectionism have been hovering over this lonely planet. Economic toll of the pandemic includes the increasing inequity in access to resources and medicine, which might have been one of the main causes on the rise of the omicron strain.
