ABSTRACT

This chapter details my year in quarters as I adapted to the events of 2020. First, I begin with a discussion of the events that occurred prior to and during the early days of the pandemic reflecting on the challenges students and faculty members experienced pivoting from in-person to online instruction. Second, I discuss wrapping up the spring semester and beginning to plan for the fall semester reflecting on how faculty members can align technology goals to educational goals. Third, I describe the start of a fall semester that was fraught with uncertainty reflecting on how faculty members can support our students and colleagues as they experience academic, personal, and professional challenges. Finally, I close by discussing the end of the fall semester and look ahead to the future reflecting on the ways faculty members can take an active role in creating a safe, equitable, and accessible classroom and campus for all.
