ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to analyse the legal and policy measures of response to coronavirus in EU Member States. The research problem was considered to be the question [Q]: To what extent did the applied “covidian” policies have an individual character, and to what extent were the EU countries relied on a common catalogue of solutions? The main hypothesis was adopted as the statement, [H], that the “covidian” policy of EU countries to a large extent had an individual character, through individual search for solutions by individual Member States depending on the epidemiological situation in a given country. In order to solve the research problem and verify the research hypothesis, the research tool Governments Policy COVID Index [GPCI] was used, which enabled the analysis of restrictions applied by EU countries.
