ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic is undoubtedly a major challenge for the EU Member States. It has challenged them to protect the lives and health of their citizens. At the beginning of the pandemic, each of the countries faced the problem of lack of knowledge about the threat and the need for developed instruments, which, together with the limited capacity of health care systems, resulted in a significant increase in the incidence of the disease. A number of actions taken by the Member States were an attempt to find effective solutions.
