ABSTRACT
This chapter honours the rich history and traditions that the African Diaspora bought to the United States. Africanist traditions shaped African American communities through Traditional Healing Practices. America celebrates the gifts of jazz, the Blues and distinctive Gospel music. These traditions give the American collective distinctive ways to remember and learn the traditions, stories, dreams and healing of Africanist ancestors.
