ABSTRACT

In this chapter, Lamie and Hill bring the student voice front and centre through a conversation with an inspirational, international group of students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, which explores their perspectives on the current state of higher education, including views on institutional reputation, degree design and delivery, partnership and what they think the future holds. The level of passion for education and learning is evident. Choice patterns may be varied, but all demonstrate that they are making reflective and informed decisions about their future study. They provide important advice and guidance for universities in terms of interaction with the community, skills development and the engagement with industry as well as the shape of the degree and the role of digital technologies. What really comes across? Students are adaptable, they're realistic and, above all, they are optimistic.
