ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses various aspects related with the internationalization of higher education and, more specifically, the operationalization of intercontinental research networks. Based on the development of a research project between European and Latin American universities for the development of equity and social cohesion, this chapter focuses on the final feedback and evaluation provided by the project participants about the knowledge exchange as well about the collaboration accomplished during the project activities. This chapter also describes how the RIAIPE3 project responded to the main goals of the Ibero-American Research Network in Education Policies (RIAIPE) and describes the contextual diversity among the participant institutions of higher education. This chapter's main objective was to give the voice back to the RIAIPE3 participant researchers, let them reflect upon and evaluate the scientific organization of such a large network, and the impact that it had had both individually, as individual researchers participating in an international and intercontinental network, and collectively, both at institutional and local levels. The interviews data also comprehend their evaluation of their participation in the thematic international and intercontinental project committees, having in mind the particular aims of the RIAIPE3 project.
