ABSTRACT

The human being as a cause of sustainability problems and the best solution paradoxically becomes the main element for improving the world’s environmental, social, and economic environment. The present study presents tendencies of knowledge management and sustainability, with a human-centered approach, in today’s digital era. Based on methodological Boolean operators applied in the Scopus database during the period 2016-2021, the results expose studies locating diseases in humans as the human-centered main focus; theoretical and practical analysis in knowledge management; environmental, social, and economic aspects of urban and smart cities and value chains in sustainability; and technological inclusion in digitalization, as significant trends. This study helps to visualize current research lines during the period after establishing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
