ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the purpose of the book and how it seeks to explore the perspectives and practices of diverse stakeholders involved in the education agent ecosystem. This chapter also explores the role played by agents within the global student recruitment sector and reviews published literature to highlight the practices, experiences, and perspectives of agents and other stakeholders, such as students, higher education institutions, and government agencies. Also, the benefits and challenges associated with agent use are explored. Finally, brief summaries of the main sections of this book and the chapter contributions are provided.
