ABSTRACT
This chapter will focus on Baret’s status as a collector of non-European flora and fauna and on how her collection and classification of non-European flora might have been different from that of her male counterparts, informed by her herb woman’s knowledge rather than by knowledge gained in formal classrooms of the period.
