ABSTRACT
This short excursus offers a glimpse into Cirk La Putyka and the debut of the now internationally renowned Czech contemporary performance “La Putyka”: It is the first Czech production to be officially presented as a contemporary circus work by its creators and one which also undoubtedly includes the characteristic contemporary circus components. While focusing on the relation between theater and circus, the description of the performance invites one to discover the dramaturgical shift from theater to contemporary circus, which is fundamental for the Czech context.
