ABSTRACT
World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as a pandemic. COVID-19 had a rapid and unprecedented impact on children’s schooling and education, not just in the UK but across the globe, therefore, post-pandemic, education must prepare children for the future. The introduction highlights that this book is aimed at school staff, educators and practitioners working with children in early years settings and primary schools. The contributors have come together with a shared passion and expertise in their fields to write a series of chapters under three sections: Children and the Curriculum, Professional Practice and Child Protection and Beyond, adopting a future focussed approach.
