ABSTRACT

The focus of this chapter is understanding the diverse range of factors which can impact upon child development. The aim is for practitioners to apply the concepts of the theories and research from the fields of developmental and social psychology discussed, and to develop a knowledge and understanding of the neurological base to a range of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) conditions, with a view of creating and promoting an environment that fosters the values and principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
