ABSTRACT

In this conclusion, the concepts advanced in the chapters of the book are reviewed and restated, with the links to core group-analytic ideas being reaffirmed. Affectivism, which is a mix of activism and attunement to feeling, is considered a key intersectional concept, alongside group polyphony and a recognition of the intersectional matrix. The concepts are anchored to clinical practice, to training in Group Analysis, and to the development of theory. Crucially, it is argued that simply allowing a space for outsider concepts is not enough because that would tend to replicate the order from beforehand.
