ABSTRACT

To address the importance of technology in the teaching and learning of gifted students, the revised Pre-K–Grade 12 Gifted Programming Standards (NAGC, 2019) include elements from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards. In this chapter, the revised Pre-K–Grade 12 Gifted Programming Standards are aligned to the ISTE Standards for Educators and Students. Guided by Pre-K–Grade 12 Gifted Programming Standards, we compare the gifted student outcomes with the ISTE Standards for Students and discuss the educator and program practices recommended for the desired student outcomes (NAGC evidence-based practices and ISTE Standards for Educators). In each section, a practical classroom or program application is provided that can be used to improve student outcomes and promote achievement in technology-rich environments.
