In this chapter, the author provides an information of inviting creative writing especially for Madeleine and other children. Teachers need to question with boldness their practices as writing teachers. The challenge for educators is to celebrate the ubiquity, the multiplicity, the plurality, the wildness of language full of wonder. Conventions of writing are typically understood as restrictions or rules that dictate the way that writing ought to be done. Diagrams and illustrations and tables and categorical labels for differentiating types of discourse are seductive because they are reductive. They tame the wildness of writing. Writing teachers must not reduce writing to lists of concepts and skills that can be taught to all students in ways that can be evaluated for purposes of report cards and evaluation. The writing process paradigm stresses the significance of writing as a meaning-making venture. Freewriting is a way of thinking on paper, a way of letting words surprise the writer.
