ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author demonstrates some of the theories or principles that have guided the way he teach, learn, conduct, and interpret research, all in hopes of making myself present to others. He discovers his true process of creativity from many wise people, from reading, and from just living. Graduate students who have studied development of emotion and cognition areas separately often are relieved that their implicit theories are valuable to their practice in education or psychology—receiving the academic permission to trust intuition, insight, and imagination in practice. Mindfulness is a broad term often cited in the literature to demonstrate the effectiveness of meditative practices on physical health or psychological well-being. There must be thousands of ways to assist holistic development and to increase awareness of one’s learning, role in life, and future goals.
