ABSTRACT

Active intuition encompasses trying to deliberately tap into the unconscious through reflection, mindfulness, and “visionizing.” Mindfulness is a term that is generally associated with being in the present moment, and deliberately slowing down. The concept of mindfulness therefore seemed to be a critical enabling factor to bring intuition into deliberate creativity, and thereby produce a holistic Creative Problem Solving (CPS). CPS aims to carefully manage this balance through each of the defined stages of its methodology. Convergent thinking skills consisted of envisioning, evaluating, screening, sorting, prioritizing, supporting, developing, and evaluating. The CPS tools included brainstorming, highlighting, ladder of abstraction, evaluation matrix, and forced connections, to name a few.
