ABSTRACT
Students are usually motivated by something, and part of the goal for mathematics is to find that motivation and build upon it. One of the keys to pursuing and fostering the creative process is to step outside the all too familiar linear landscape of mathematics. Besides the risk of entering a math class and not coming out alive, which many people experience in the school years, risk-taking can be a beneficial skill to practice and teach when learning mathematics. Teachers would present different ways to solve problems, allow students to choose their best method, and then learn how to get to the solution in the way that best suited the individual. The subject of math with its analytical, step-oriented, logical processes does have many ways in which creativity can abound and intuition can be appreciated and cultivated.
