ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the role of race and racialization in the educational experiences of Canadian students in both the general school system and later at university. In the first part, we explore how multiculturalism as a federal government policy informs equitable practices in schooling and education, particularly in the kindergarten to Grade 12 system. In the second part, we present research-based findings on how race and racism affect both racialized graduate students and especially racialized faculty at the university.
