ABSTRACT

In international development, outsider practitioners invoking notions of universality can perpetuate (unwittingly or otherwise) established power relations, including colonial dichotomies. The author draws inspiration from the decolonial concept of the pluriverse to reflect on their international development practice in Vanuatu. Written in first person, the author shares their struggles, efforts and learning towards strengthening a conscious, embodied practice that embraces pluriversal futures.
