ABSTRACT

The aspect of national unity has become one of the main pillars in the current Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013–2025. This is consistent with the long-term plan proposed by the Government to produce future generation with a strong and good personality. However, nowadays, there is an increasing in various cases of social symptoms which do a lot of harm to the community. Statistics showed that most of these social symptoms occur among adolescents, especially among school students. Failure in applying and forming moral values in every adolescent is one of the contributing factors to the tendency for adolescents’ moral decay. For that reason, the factors affecting nation unity practices should be taken into consideration. This chapter highlights factors determining national unity practices among school students. Conclusions are drawn that national unity can benefit from the role of family and education in empowering unity values. This chapter ends with recommendations for future research for researchers. Therefore, this chapter is expected to benefit numerous stakeholders in helping and shaping national unity in Malaysia.
