ABSTRACT
How do properties and natural kinds relate? I first examine E. J. Lowe's four-category ontology, which takes natural kinds and properties to compose distinct fundamental categories of entity. Having rejected this approach I look at the reduction of natural kinds to properties. I argue that natural kinds are non‐accidental mereological complexes of properties.
