ABSTRACT

The first time I took my son along to a cinema, the movie had hardly started when he held out his hand and demanded “Appa, where's the remote? I want to reduce the volume”. I tried to explain that there was no remote here. He was not convinced. “Remote, remote, I want the remote!” he demanded, his pitch growing louder and louder. He created such a disturbance in the theatre that we had to leave. The moment we got home he ran and picked up the TV remote. “If we had taken this with us we could have lowered the volume in the theatre”, he declared cheerfully.
