ABSTRACT

Within its complex, highly contrived, and furtive masculine narrative—where affects are filtered, sublimated, and repressed—forms of nostalgia appear in all versions of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Moreover, in all versions of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy nostalgia is queered/queer at vital moments. This chapter argues that these queer nostalgic forms are central structural components of the novel and its multiple adaptations.
