ABSTRACT

Teaching, learning, and research have been assisted through many tools. Digital platforms and applications have been built to encourage dissemination of information in the education sector. Islam views knowledge at its highest esteem, as knowledge is both fardlu ‘ain (absolute obligation of Muslim personality) and kifayah (obligation for Muslim community). Creativity in delivering knowledge is an essential, especially during a pandemic or in any unusual situations. Effectiveness of delivering the knowledge and instilling the practicality of the theory has also been the concern of educators. Independent learning is one way to achieve this goal. Therefore, this chapter tries to explore the student-centered learning (SCL), project-based learning (PBL), and mind mapping (MM) methods in Islamic economics and finance teachings as part of independent learning methods. By reviewing literature studies and taking an example of such methods in a developing country like Indonesia, this chapter delivers practical solutions, justified models, and methods of application in today’s reality.
