This article proposes the humanistic Organizational Development Matrix as a managerial tool by which critical human development milestones can be identified, operationalized, and pursued in the organizational context. Drawing heavily from Erikson’s work on psychosocial development, the author asserts that the Loving Organization is one that is committed to developing the Essential Humanness of its employees, which when successfully done creates a virtuous cycle of self-giving employees contributing to and benefitting from the human flourishing of others.
