ABSTRACT

This chapter presents casual work as one of the flexible forms of employment becoming more common in the age of the digital economy. It highlights the benefits and risks of this form of employment from the perspective of both employers and employees. The empirical part of the chapter presents the case of a Polish temporary work agency, which employs casual workers, mainly for German courier companies. The research made it possible to determine the number of casual workers and their age structure as well as the periods of employment for particular age groups.
