ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an analysis of the diversification of EU countries in terms of labour market resources from the perspective of their adaptation to handle contemporary labour market challenges. To illustrate the specificity of labour markets in particular countries, selected statistical ratios describing employment structures, education levels, the society’s digital skills and their practical applications, and the extent of the use of digital technologies in the corporate sector were used. The further parts of this chapter analyse the internal diversification of EU countries from the perspective of the chosen variables and present a synthetic measure for assessing labour market resources in particular countries, ultimately allowing for them to be ranked. The chapter also explores whether a country’s quality of labour resources supports its economic conditions. The chapter ends with conclusions and potential areas for future research.
