ABSTRACT

Seva Sahayog Foundation (SSF) is a not-for-profit volunteer-driven social organization. While its vision is to see a day when there is no need for SSF to exist, for that matter any NGOs, today SSF has more than 20,000 active volunteers, engaged and managed by over 150 volunteer leaders. SSF functions purely based on needs, not goal-based, and it is focused on upliftment of the deprived and socio-economically ignored section of the society. To achieve this, SSF engages socially conscious corporates, individuals, informal groups, and NGOs through various programmes. SSF’s initiatives are designed to address the need for education, empowerment, and health by providing a conducive environment at Community Learning Centres that focus on all its target audience and programmes, such as, specially abled children, education of adolescent girl child, skill development for unemployed youth, and self-sustainable empowerment of women especially from urban slum areas. SSF seeks to become a demonstration of how the knowledge of underprivileged human needs can result into a drive for actions. Its founders wish SSF could soon impact the life of the needy across the nation. SSF further plans to engage 500 NGOs and 200 CSR organizations. This leads them towards a new knowledge and intelligence. However, SSF’s vision remains to see a time, and genuinely a need, to wind up its operations as soon as possible.
