ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides an insight and understanding of the experiences of highly proficient and skilled practitioners working in the sectors of domestic abuse (DA) and sexual violence (SV), who were new to or, who had limited experience of conducting research. It addresses the recognition of a lack of focus or voice of those individual practitioners who have an acute and critical appreciation of ethical professional practice, and how this translates to research with victims and survivors of DA and sexual violence SV. It discusses the importance of selfcare during the research process itself and certainly this matter gained momentum during the pandemic of Covid 19, when there was a significant blurring of the boundaries of home, working, and student life due to remote working conditions.
