ABSTRACT

The chapter will address the dynamics and perspectives of stalking and harassment behaviours. In 2020, I conducted a research study on how the subjective perception of stalking and harassment creates barriers regarding appropriate victim protection in the UK. A discussion of the key messages from the findings in my research and how I have used this knowledge in my professional practice as a social worker in Norway will be presented. A literature review and reflections regarding methodology and the ethical challenges when conducting research in domestic abuse (DA) and sexual violence (SV) will also be included. The impact of conducting research during Covid-19 and my thoughts regarding aspects of self-care will conclude the chapter.
