ABSTRACT

Author has described a perspective on language in thinkers like Herder and others that seems very compatible with ecological psychology, looking at how humans are constituted as participants in a language community. He was wondering what readers think about the scope of ecological psychology. But the areaders are after something different which they describe as the social understood as a "background condition" for ecological psychology. There's a book, that's being put together now, of interviews that were conducted in the nineties with people involved in ecological psychology at that time. What he tried to do, without stepping on anyone's toes, is to trace out these different streams within ecological psychology after Gibson. They have ve done really great work in bringing dynamical systems into ecological psychology. Attention to climate change is going on within environmental psychology, but not yet within ecological psychology.
