ABSTRACT

Most optimally helpful interventions are multisystemic. Therefore, whenever possible, it is best to intervene to help a child overcome systemic barriers to external change, while helping the child accomplish deep internal change in CCPT. In the early sections of this chapter, the authors introduce interventions that are particularly relevant to school settings to help children and systems capitalize on progress made in CCPT. In the latter sections, similar interventions that are particularly relevant to agency and private practice settings are introduced, as well as parent and family interventions to encourage the child’s progress at home.

By reading and working through the chapter exercises, the reader will be better able to:

Describe the implementation of CCPT in a multisystemic set of services.

Describe the implementation of multiple additional intervention strategies options to follow or accompany CCPT in school or in agency or private practice settings.

Understand group counseling as an option to help individual clients capitalize on progress made in CCPT.

Describe how parents may utilize aspects of CCPT to help children capitalize on gains made in CCPT.
