ABSTRACT

The Pink Therapy series has always been about frequently bringing to the table what the heteronormative and mononormative psychotherapy trainings ignore. This book is no different. Having read this volume, we hope readers can reflect on their practice and identify the previously unseen heteronormativity and mononormativity that are so engrained (and therefore often unexamined) in how we are taught to conduct relationship therapy. It is imperative for GSRD therapists and all therapists working with relationships to pause and think about the pervasive monogamism in psychotherapy. We’ve explored how to work with dyads who want to open their relationships and work expertly with consensual non-monogamous relationships.
