ABSTRACT

The chapter's focus is on four Czech political parties' approaches to the most critical principles of political management – diversifying power and exerting influence. The chapter represents the very first study of the political management practice in the Czech Republic which itself is very advantageous and may provide the foundation for further research. Further, the text brings an interesting perspective to problematics, as it applies and compares established political practice with management theory in the business. Qualitative research was chosen to answer three research questions about structure, functioning, and leadership. This research took the form of semi-structured interviews with party management representatives conducted in 2023. The research's results show that the top priority for party management is to achieve electoral success. Czech political parties seem to function in a very conservative way as their political content and political activity focus almost exclusively on organizing elections.
