ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the lesson plans for the Mineral Resources STEM Road map module. The chapter provides a series of three lesson plans – What is the Global Demand for Mineral Use?, The Impact on Society, and Why Should Citizens Understand Mineral Use? Moving through the lessons, students participate in Webquests, database investigations, communicating scientific information, and creating a website. Throughout the lessons, students will collect various types and sources of data about a mineral they will select. Students’ work culminates in Lesson Plan Three as they synthesize their learning to create a website to communicate their findings on the production, consumption, extraction and societal impact of their selected mineral.
