ABSTRACT
Norway plays an important international role as one of the main actors in the blue economy. More than ever, a holistic and sustainable approach is needed to address global challenges, value creation, and knowledge-based management of the northern regions and oceans. The objective of this chapter is to demonstrate how thorough knowledge, wisdom, and courage combined with political leadership are needed to solve the global challenges and avoiding promising solutions thought to be a part-of-the-solution instead becomes part-of-the-problem. We must create incentives for demand and deliver across the entire value chain stimulating the stakeholders from a think tank to an executional do-tank to develop competence, knowledge, innovations, and new start-ups.
