ABSTRACT
This chapter takes a pictorial format (visual essay) to explore the domestication of connected technologies through design, that is, using design as a mode of inquiry and knowledge creation. The two design fiction projects that are featured reveal smart objects which are not only connected to the internet but that actually connect the home, and its inhabitants, with larger socio-technical infrastructures.
