ABSTRACT

“This seems like the beginning of the end. I am now an assistant professor. What do I do? Now? Contest? Transgress? I chose both”. This text is a reflexive poetical and hybrid proposition. “From transgression to contestation. And back” is a personal foray in the first year of an assistant professor who wishes to find her path in academia. Inspired by Foucault, the author tries to make peace with what was a traumatic year which still resonates in her today. She proposes a poetic journey from transgression to contestation… and back to show how the urge to exist as an academic can interfere with (and destroy) personal life.
