ABSTRACT

For years, agile methods (e.g., Scrum, Lean, Kanban) have been used in software development, but increasingly also in other complex projects. While typical space projects – e.g., manufacturing of satellites – still follow classical approaches, agile elements are already included in the early phase of requirements definition. As space projects are more software-dependent and space-related data applications grow, agile approaches are becoming increasingly important. In this context, there are considerable uncertainties related to appropriate contract drafting. The chapter focuses on the main aspects to be considered.
